Arcana Log is a private clue journal for recording dreams, inner thoughts, symbols, card-based clues, and personal reflections. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the Arcana Log mobile app, website, and related services.
1. Our Local-First Approach
Arcana Log 2.0 is designed so your personal clue journal can be used without creating an account. Your Dream Clues, Inner Clues, Symbol Clues, Card Clues, My Reflection text, tags, state values, and symbol sketches are stored on your device by default.
Arcana Log does not automatically back up or sync your personal journal records to our servers in the current version. If you export a backup file, you choose where to save or share that file.
2. Information We May Process
Personal Clue and Reflection Content
The personal content you create in the app, including notes, reflections, tags, state values, and drawings, is stored locally on your device by default. We do not use this personal journal content for advertising, marketing, tracking, or sale to third parties.
Manual Backup Files
Backup and restore features create or read a file selected by you. A backup file may include your local clues, reflections, tags, state values, and symbol sketches. Keep backup files private, because they may contain personal writing. If you save a backup to Files, iCloud Drive, another cloud service, or send it to another app, that storage or sharing is controlled by you and the relevant provider.
App Content and Remote Configuration
Arcana Log may connect to Firebase services to load non-private app content and settings, such as Card Clue text, card and deck information, image URLs, notices, FAQ content, language content, ad settings, and other app configuration.
Account or Legacy Sign-In Information
The main Arcana Log 2.0 journal features do not require sign-in. If you choose to use any supported account, legacy account-management, or support sign-in feature, we may process authentication identifiers and account information provided by Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, or Firebase Authentication, such as a user ID and email address when provided.
Purchase and Entitlement Information
Arcana Log may offer an optional ad-removal purchase or other in-app purchases. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. RevenueCat may be used to manage purchase entitlements, purchase history, product IDs, and restore-purchase status. We do not collect or store your payment card number or payment credentials.
Advertising and Device Information
Arcana Log may use Google AdMob to display ads, currently intended for the Card Clue flow when ads are enabled. Google AdMob and related advertising services may process device identifiers, advertising data, app interaction data, ad impressions, clicks, approximate location derived from IP address, and fraud-prevention or service-operation data.
Analytics, Diagnostics, and Support
We may use Firebase Analytics, Apple platform services, or similar tools to understand app usage, diagnose errors, improve stability, and maintain the service. If you contact support, we may process your email address, message content, screenshots, or other information you choose to send.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide and operate Arcana Log;
- To save, display, export, and restore your local journal records on your device;
- To provide Card Clue content, deck information, notices, FAQ, and remote settings;
- To manage optional purchases and restore entitlements;
- To show and measure ads where ads are enabled;
- To analyze app performance, fix bugs, and improve reliability;
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- To respond to support requests.
4. Third-Party Services
Arcana Log may use third-party services that process information according to their own privacy policies. These services may include Firebase, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Analytics, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, and Apple App Store services.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share or process information only with service providers needed to operate the app, manage purchases, provide ads where enabled, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud or abuse, and protect Arcana Log and its users.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Local journal records remain on your device until you edit, delete, import over, uninstall the app, erase the device, or otherwise remove the app data. Backup files remain wherever you choose to store them.
Remote app content and configuration are retained as needed to operate the service. Purchase-related records may be retained as needed to verify purchases, restore access, and comply with App Store, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal requirements.
If you used an account-based feature and want to request deletion of account-related data, contact us at support@arcanalog.app. Some information may need to be retained where required by law, security, fraud prevention, or purchase verification.
7. Children's Privacy
Arcana Log is not directed to children under the age of 13 or the minimum age required in your region. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, passcode, cloud accounts, and exported backup files secure.
9. International Data Processing
Arcana Log may use service providers that process information in countries other than your country of residence. By using Arcana Log, you understand that information may be processed where our service providers operate.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify users through the app, website, or by updating the effective date on this page.
